History
Since the beginning of his practice Mr. Grothe has concentrated on helping clients effectively plan for the disposition of their assets. Mr Grothe has extensive experience in the avoidance of formal probate through the use of revocable and irrevocable trusts, joint tenancy and other methods. Mr. Grothe also has experience in Estate and Trust Administration as well as litigation of the rights of beneficiaries, devisees, heirs, spouses, and creditors. In connection with Estate Planning Mr. Grothe has extensive experience in the areas of Family Limited Partnerships, Family Limited Liability Companies, marital deduction planning, gift planning, special use planning, federal estate and gift tax planning, fiduciary income tax planning, liquidation of estate assets including but not limited to businesses, farms, other real estate and other assets and Medicaid Planning.
In Mr. Grothe's civil litigation practice, he has concentrated on helping clients resolve thier business and personal disputes. Traditionallly that meant litigating the dispute in district court. However, over the years more and more clients have expressed and interest in staying out of court and trying to resolve a dispute through mediation or arbitration. Accordingly, he handles these types of alternative dispute resolution matters as well.
